I am sitting at my window
With elbows on the sill
I watch the enormous splashes
As holes in my driveway fill
The sky filled with dark clouds
One might find it a bit gloomy
It is filled too with excitement
At least it is to me
Some things are at a standstill
We don’t see too many birds
Flitting from tree to tree
It is invigorating beyond words
Everything takes a break
As nature refreshes all
I love the rain in springtime
I love it in the fall
I grab my lightweight jacket
And out-of-doors I go
Look up to catch it all
On my face as it flows
Oh, how I love a rainy day
Like a shower in which to clean
It washes all the dust off
I’m sure you know what I mean!
