I Love You Momma Poem by Melanie Weeks

I Love You Momma

Rating: 5.0

What did you have in mind for me
When you held me in the hospital room?
Did you wonder what I'd be like?
Did you care?

Were you worried that I'd get my arm hurt?
Or my heart?
Were you making plans
On how to make me feel better?
In you own way, you did.

What did you have in mind
When the doctors told you
About my heart?
Where you scared I wouldn't have
A normal childhood?
Well, I did, with a few minor setbacks
(and stupid, bulky heart monitors) .

What did you have in mind for me
When you first took me to school?
Did you care?

Were you worried that I wouldn't make any friends?
Did you wonder if I had you flair for words?
Did you ever think about if I'd join a sport?
Or wave a pom-pom?

What did you have in mind for me
When I got my first job?

Did you hope that my boss was a good guy?
Were you worried that I'd slip and fall?
Did you care?

Did you know I'd have fun washing dishes
In an Italian restraunt?
Did you ever figure that I'd be mad at my boss
For rushing me in mopping the floors quick,
Not efficiently?
What did you think,
When I got 'let go'?

What did you have in mind when I disided to get married.
I know you thought that I'm too young,
But were you happy?

What did you feel when he broke my heart?
Did you wanna kill him?
I did.
Did you forgive him?
Did you care?

I did.
I forgave.
I care.

I don't know where I am with the 'IN LOVE'
Part of my life,
But I know what LOVE is.
Thanks to you.
Did you care?
You always did.
And always will.

I love you momma.
