I Love You To Love Me Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

I Love You To Love Me

I love you not for the words you say,
but for the spaces between them,
where silence stetches soft and unbroken.

I love you in the way sunlight
falls on the floor at dawn,
not asking for anything but presence,
steady and golden.

I love you in the small movements
-
a hand brushing hair behind an ear,
a glance that doesn't demand.

I love you in the pause
between your breath and mine,
a rhythm unspoken,
yet known.

I love you in the way the wind lifts a leaf,
carrying it nowhere in particular,
but still carrying it.

I love you not because I need you,
but because love simply is-
like water finding its path,
like the sky cradling the stars,
like the earth holding its roots.

I love you,
to love me,
to love.
