I'M Done Poem by Jeffenise Robertson

I'M Done

If I smiled I didn't frown
And when I spoke I did say
When I laughed I was tickled
And when I danced I felt the beat
If I cried I expressed an emotion
And if I sang I created a sound
When I decided I made a choice
And when I asked I was in question
If I reasoned I gave much thought
And when I searched I discovered
When I moved I relocated
And when I came back I returned
If I loved I sacrificed
And when I touched I held on
When I followed I also led
If I said something I meant it
And if I was honest I lied
When I was finished I was done

I'm done with artificial smiles
I'm done with telecommunications
I'm done with horrible punch lines
I'm done with trying to stay on beat
I'm done crying pointless tears
I'm done with broken harmonies
I'm done with bad decisions
I'm done with unanswered questions
I'm done with idle minds afraid to think
I'm done accepting the biggest lie told
I'm done with misdirection
I'm done with false departures
I'm done with the verbal expression of inactive love
I'm done with waiting for the initiation of affection
I'm done following blindly
I'm done with my motives being misconstrued
I'm done with pretending to be something that I'm not
If it is finished and I said that I'm done, when will it be over.
