I'M Sorry Poem by cheryl davis miller

I'M Sorry

Friend, what if one of us should pass
with anger still between us two?
This fearful thought occurred to me
today as my thought's; turned to you.

For years we have been just as close
as siblings or the next of kin.
Yet here of late we're far apart;
I wonder how this rift crept in.

I only know life's not the same
when you are there; and I am here.
I never meant this gulf to grow
I'm sorry; and I hope you hear.
