I Miss You Poem by Lily Espinosa

I Miss You

I know I shouldn't,
Feel these things for you
My unrequited emotions, running high
Only hurt myself,
And soon another.
I miss you and it's only been a day,
Fingers poised on the phones key pad,
Eager to text you,
Talk to you,
See you,
Have some form of pitiful contact with you.
It means so much more to me than it ever will to you.
Unreturned feelings cause so much sadness,
I really ought to let it go,
But I live in the hope that one day
You too will feel the same,
And take me in your arms,
So I no longer have to miss you.
