I remember when I had only one
over the years
as bedtime nears
those days are gone

now I have two under my head
pulled tight to my neck
not much room left in my bed
my blankets a wreck

one between my legs at my knees
one for my feet and toes
one my heart begs to squeeze
and another for who knows

each one in its place
they need to keep
blanket over my face
I go to sleep

now I need one more
to take
theres always one on the floor
when I wake
