I Overpriced My Love Over Hers

My love for my wife to be was huge for my heart to hold,
I had tied it with my heart and let it be the life blood of it,
I knew that I would die if she’s detached from my heart,

I thought I’m clever and alert enough in her presence,
Unaware that my vision is deemed,
My heart floating in the river of pleasure,
I loved her so much not to hear the tick of time,
The dawns of parting time were heartache times,

As a migrant labour, being away from her, life was a bed of thorns
More days separate, few days together we lived,
So many reasons to hurt by separation time,
The hurt for loving her, leaving her alone, being unable to protect her,
For living her with unconsummated love,
Inexperienced and vulnerable to the vultures, she was,

For that I never healed, but my love has sobered in time,
Her love, innocent and vulnerable, mistaken as loyalty,
We were in heaven, blind on the bad side,
I hurt in the absence of loss for loss,
I believed she would chase after the sweet scent in the air,
I wish i could own all the rose flowers in Eden,
And plant her in the midst, so she could go nowhere,
Only the bees will make me cry because she’s a flower too,

Love me, she did, make no mistake,
Too much love assured, makes the heart go astray,
Like a pendulum, it will come and go,
No questions asked, forgive and forgive…
Rendering the heart fragile and spoiled underneath,
Try to pick up the sack, a Pandora’s Box..,
Half love in the sack, looking up sullen face,
I blame myself for loving too much, equal to the hurt,

Too far apart, my urges were sobered just by remembering,
That she’s holding the other end of the string,
Her splendid beauty radiating through the line of thought,
My craving for her reached a crescendo of pleasure,

I overpriced my love over hers,
I had a corolla while she had a petal in her hand,
It’s funny this feeling I had, I still have,
It punched my heart all the time through,
My love for her is equated to the bee love of nectar,
Alas! She’s of the same thought!
Tit for tat, hurt, hurt….. No love! !
