I prayed for you an Angel
It's there watching over you
To help to console you
At times you are feeling blue

I prayed for you an Angel
To help to keep you in line
To keep you from all trouble
On days your sun won't shine

I prayed for you an Angel
To come from Heaven above
To comfort you in sorrow
And surround you with Gods love

I prayed for you an Angel
To make sure you'd be alright
To follow you everywhere
And take care of you day and night

I prayed for you an Angel
I didn't know what else I could do
So I just prayed a simple prayer
Telling God how much I still need you

I prayed for you an Angel
To help your heart to mend
God must have granted this prayer
For I still have you as my friend
