I Remember You Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

I Remember You

I think about you all the time,
And I don't know what to do,
Or where to begin…

I remember your laugh,
Your sexy voice,
The way you speak my name.

I remember your smile,
The dimples, the smirk,
And the way you kissed my lips.

I remember your eyes,
Sometimes green, sometimes blue,
And the warmth or ice which they held.

I remember the way your arms
Held me tight, I was safer than I
Had ever been.

Your touch, your kiss,
the smell of your skin,
the way you make me feel.

I remember the good, the happy and joyful;
I remember the sadness and heartbreak too.

I have loved you completely,
More than I have ever loved another,
And I feel I have lost part of myself.

I know all your flaws, and I love you still,
I love you and your heart…. It's gold.
I love your mind, so intelligent you are,
And love to hear you speak.

You are charismatic,
With sweet, old school charm
And I love you, with every breath I take.

One day soon we will see,
If it is all meant to be,
And we can look forward to
All our anniversaries.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Well this did not unfold as hoped. And, as hard as it is to say, I am lucky it did not. What one wants is not always what we need, or what God has in store for us.
