I Rested In The Quiet Of My Own Poem Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Rested In The Quiet Of My Own Poem

Rating: 5.0

I rested in the quiet of my own poem
There was nothing real to say
The rain of the day and the cold
Made the outside world impossible
So I rested in the quiet of my own poem
I would give a day to going nowhere
To resting
I had not in this way rested in a long time
And today the rain and the cold
Made the outside world too difficult
In the quiet of my own poem
In my own inner calm and peace
A seventh Chanukah day Rosh Chodesh 5776
I rested in the quiet of my own poem
And gave my day and my time
To rest and peace and quiet words and inner happiness alone.
