I Sat Patiently Without A Tear Poem by Alex waters

I Sat Patiently Without A Tear

Rating: 5.0

I sat patiently without a tear,
As the people stopped and stared.
I knew why we were all here,
But acted as if nobody cared.

For long I remained strong,
For it was a favor for another.
Guilt took me on to see a face so long;
It was the face of the victim’s mother.

I thought of all he had,
And my heart began to sear.
I took the life of this young man,
And took the front with great fear.

My heart began to tell its tale.
But I did not apologize,
For this favor without fail,
He claimed was all the wise.

“Perhaps” he said,
“It would be best for life,
For me to fall,
And end the strife,
And end it all.”

The mood turned quite queer,
As the silence stole the air.
Now they knew why I was here,
But did not seem to care.

But they all stared,
And I saw my mother crying.
A mood that she shared,
As if her only son were dying.

i'm not sure i completely understand this...but don't worry, it's probably from my complete lacking of realistic experiences...still an excellent write, nice rhyme and rhythm 10/10..................................................lc
