I Saw Some Stars That Fell From The Sky Poem by Juan Olivarez

I saw some stars, that fell from the sky,
And live on a beach near L.A.
And they drink all day, with tears in their eyes,
Down on the beach where they stay.

All they can do is remember the days,
When they were up high in the sky.
So they lie on the beach soaking up rays,
And after a while they just cry.

So they tip their coronas and propose a toast,
To their glory slowly fading away.
And in between tears they often will boast,
How they once ruled the night, and the day.
