i set out to heal a soul
and left it in flames- -

i thought i had the healing touch
i thought i had these magic words

i sought to heal the open wounds
the deep set scars of tender years
with words of love
and loving care
and tears that flowed without a pause- -

the wounded soul
absorbed my tears
the cracks began to heal

And then it snowed heavily- -
freezing all emotions to ice
closing all avenues that led
to the wounded heart- -

The wounds began to bleed
The soul engulfed in flames

i just stood there in the cold
looking at my charred hands
