I Shall Miss Her Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Shall Miss Her

Rating: 3.8

I was feeling down with sadness
She was suffering from illness
Known practically as incurable
Almost sure of loosing battle

She is always in smiles
Not in sadness but any time
She may often ask for my well being
I had no happiness for her to bring

It is association of almost 40 years
Her words still ring in ears
As that of newly wed
When she had chosen for me to lead

Lord was so kind
We were always inclined
He was there to shower blessings
We were always happy and well being

Now dark clouds have set in
I fear for her that she may give in
Go for final end soon
I might find darkness in bright noon

What will I do?
Will that come true?
It worries me and drives in despair
The damage will be beyond repair

It will wrack me from inside
I am unable to decide
She is my life line
I wish her to be happy and fine

She is opening and closing
Her eyes are still shining
I look at her and feel sadder
I shall miss first step in ladder
