I Should Like To Write A Poem Poem by Walter Jackson

I Should Like To Write A Poem

Rating: 4.5

I should like to write a poem,
before I am called to embrace that eternal dark.
That I might on this unresponsive world,
At least leave in place my distinctive mark.

Alas, I am doomed to snatch at things to say,
lacking any connection to those domains divine.
For all my attempted utterances turn out to be cliché,
The feeble echoes of Superior minds.

A good piece of poetry, well articulated, nice encapsulated and penned with conviction. Your train of thoughts is not bad. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. ➕9

I liked this and in no way is it inferior. The old adage write about what you know and you'll not go far wrong. Anyway who said it was a competition your poems just fine. Of course this might just be a rhetorical question or poem even. However I still liked it BB: O)
