I Thank You Poem by Randy McClave

I Thank You

You would think that I would hate you
But, I can't so I truly don't,
You would think that I would stay hurt and blue
But, I can't and I really won't.
I would really rather thank you instead
Because, you did a great service unto me,
You released my fear and all of my dread
So, I wanna now thank you for setting me free.
Thank you for saving me from a future of pain and lies
Which all people fear the very most,
Thank you for freeing me from my family and friends sighs
I say this by giving you a cheerful and a happy toast.
Thank you for finally putting my mind at ease
Whenever I didn't know where you really were,
And I thank you for giving me back my house keys
You will now know that never again will occur.
I thank you for showing me your true self
Before, I started making those many dates and plans,
Your pictures and letters are now gone from my bookshelf
I finally swept them all in one of my dust pans.
For me you have a done a truly great service
And you've added many more beautiful years into my life,
Now I'm not worried or bothered or even nervous
You have relieved all my doubts, anguish, stress and strife.
No more will I ever send you a message or give you a call
And I promise you that I will stay true to that fact,
You said that I will never find another person like you at all
And I will thank God Almighty, for that.
