I Thought Of You Poem by Edwina Reizer

I Thought Of You

I've been too long away from the poem.
But I'm writing today for I feel at home
with myself and all the things I see
and so I'll seek some words for thee.

There is no thought that should be left to die.
For each thought I have seems to try
to bury itself inside my mind,
a place that no one else can find.

It plants itself just like a seed
but surfaces and grows as a weed
that chokes all other thoughts away
until it's written and I have my say.

Thought for today, aha it's here.
I've thought of you again, my dear.
I must water this thought, keep it wet
for the thought of you is all I'll get.

But the thought is better than none at all.
Can't leave it in a crevice or let it crawl
back inside where it feasts on my heart.
So I'll write it now so it can't depart.

I like this one! ! Good style you have. I feel the same when I don't write for a while. Take a peek at mine if you will.
