I Try Poem by Garrett Binford

I Try

I try to show you that I love you.
I try to show you my feelings.
I try to help you and be your friend.
But then I feel like your playing pretend.
You push me away but expect me to stay close to you.
You say you love me but tell me not to love you.
You hug and kiss guys I hate.
What are you trying to do, slap me in the face?
I have plenty of options but I chose you.
I stay loyal, something not a lot of guys do.
If you asked me to cry, I would flood the world.
If you asked me to die, let your word be the bullet.
I don't love you because of your goods.
I don't love you because of your looks.
I love you for who you are, those just come along.
I don't have to be with you to love you.
I would rather you be happy with another,
then miserable with me.
Eventually you will realize I am here for you.
I just hope it is not to late when you do.
