I turned around to look and you were gone
The room turned ice-cube cold and conversations froze
I felt you, not there
The world switched to pause
As true as sure, you were lost
I sought you in the outer smoke
But not before I pressed rewind
Too scared of what I’d find in now:
And you were there with me
Laughing and drinking bubbles
Eating wondrous food and singing
Doing the chicken woman
Endlessly giggling
And being so naughty in that
, better than us, ties and wigs on parade, room
We had a little Patience and how does it feel
You got up un-lady-like
I smiled and loved you
I held your hand.
Then came the danger strangers
Enticing and different
Young and vibrant
Cool and exciting
I followed you to them
I lost your eyes
Fast forward from losing to seeking
Out there in “give us a light” world
I turned around to look and you were there
Entwined with the random
I had gone from you
I was nothing
The night turned Carbon black
I was naked and exposed
A ridiculous old song on aging vinyl
Splintered stupid dreams
Then the silent soulless, empty journey home
I turned around to look and you were gone.
