I'Ve Learned... Poem by Kristy Artmann

I’ve learned that just because someone says they love you, it doesn’t mean they know the meaning of it.

I’ve learned that if someone treats you like you’re unimportant that you begin to feel like you don’t matter.

I’ve learned that people hurt you and don’t understand the hurt they cause.

I’ve learned that you have to let people go that aren’t healthy for you because they will bring you down with them.

I’ve learned that you have a lot in common with other people if you just take the time to get to know them.

I’ve learned that people who call themselves your friend don’t always have the best of intentions.

I’ve learned not to let people get close to you until they are worthy of such.

I’ve learned to keep my head up when unexplainable things happen in my life.

I’ve learned that people get thrills out of hurting others but it doesn’t mean that we should be just like those people.

I’ve learned that some people have multiple personalities and if you don’t know how to deal with it, it’s better to leave them to the wolves.

I’ve learned what love is and what love isn’t.

I’ve learned not to tell what you don’t want to be repeated.

I’ve learned that I don’t need anyone but God to help me through hard times.

I’ve learned that some people are starving for attention and need a friend or two but it doesn’t give them the right to ignore others feelings when in a relationship.

I’ve learned that I have things in common with people but I am still the only ME in the world.

I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason and it’s usually going to save you from greater horrors in the future.
