I Want To Merge With The Universe Poem by Mark Heathcote

I Want To Merge With The Universe

I want to merge with the universe.
I want to cocoon and fly higher.
I want to be all you could ever want.
And more I want to be an opening flower.
Soaking up the sun
I want to merge like a dew drop with the Earth.
I want to root in the soil.
I want to swim down a valley in a river.
I want to be a wave lapping the shores.
This is how it feels to be alive.
And someday, burn, turn to vapour, and cry.
I want to merge with somebody real.
I want to merge with someone who'll be grateful.
To share my life
I want to merge with the universe.
I want to cocoon and fly higher.
I want to be all you could ever want.
And more I want to be an opening flower.
Soaking up the sun
I want to merge like a dew drop with the Earth.
I want to root in the soil.
Join hands and souls forevermore.
What else are we all living for?
