I Want To Write The Poem Of All I Have Been Poem by Shalom Freedman

I am far from where I am now
I want to write the poem
Of all I have been
I know I cannot
All the people I have cared for
All those who still are
And those are not
I will never write the poem of all I have been
I will never go deep in memory again
I am on the surface of who I am
Trying to survive with that
Unhappy in this
And unable to be what I longed to be
And never will be
The teller of my own story
In a great and true way.
