I Was Unsure Of The Moment Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Was Unsure Of The Moment

I was unsure of the moment
when darkness receded,
surrendering its space—
to light, once buried under shadows.

When the crescent moon arrived,
it swept the clouds from my room,
like a damsel with tender hands
brushing aside tresses from her face.

The sky adorned with clear stars,
I rose and gathered stardust,
cradled it within my eyes—
like treasures, tracing kohl lines,
to see beyond illusions, sharpen my sight.

Then I saw the sun:
poised at my threshold,
a sovereign blaze, prepared
to flood the room—
its brilliance waiting to enter,
its light, unsetting, eternal.
