I Will Love You On A Couch, Poem by Liza Sud

I Will Love You On A Couch,

I will love you on a couch,
on a windowsill, at the table,
in a pool, castle, on sidewalk,
on the sand, among vegetation.

I will love you standing up, lying down,
squeezing very tightly and simply hugging.
Like only vassal loves nobleman,
As soon as nobleman wants his vassal.

I will not be ashamed before God,
because it is - only my dreams.
But so specific, that formed a style,
where - the Bar of Eternity: you and me.

I am - golden body of clergy man,
I run to you in the field as stars,
as wheel - where we are I can't recall,
because we in poems - in paradise!

***

LIKE ONLY VASSAL LOVES NOBLEMAN / WHEN NOBLE MAN WANTS VASSAL - This resembles the KNIGHTS OF AMOUR in Renaissance Italy, there is a dynamic when both persons realize: This is the moment of love. It's never forced, or casual, or lazy. Dynamic means energy, commitment, choice. For Dante it was Beatrice, always Beatrice, and eventually she guides this poet/Knight of Love into Paradise, level upon level, to the Multifoliate Rose of the Redeemed and God. Your poem focuses on the very first stage of this ascent but one already charged with divine love - Dante concludes: LIKE A WHEEL IN PERFECT BALANCE TURNING, I FELT MY WILL AND MY DESIRE MOVED BY THE LOVE THAT MOVES THE SUN AND THE OTHER STARS. From the Earth and worldly love through the purifying ordeal of the cosmos to PARADISO and Divine Love. In your poem, the mystic journey begins.
