I Wish Poem by emily summers

I Wish

Rating: 4.7

I wish every night that you were not gone
that you had not passed on
and I shed a tear whilst I reminisce
over memories I miss
I glance at the photo of you
and I pray that I'll see you again
I hear your footsteps
But they're only in my head
I pray that you're Okay
And not in any pain
I hope you're In a better place
But I wish I was there too
With you
Like It used to be
you and me
The house seems empty
I wish you were here to fill the emptiness
like a black hole
a void
a missing piece of the puzzle
my broken heart will never heal
I wish that you were there to make me feel
the numbness that I hold inside of me
that will never fly free
unless your'e with me
So I wish every night that you were not gone
I wish that you had not passed on
and my heart was still whole.

Emma, the sadness oozes through this poem. You expressed how we feel, but never tell anyone. Beautiful. I loved it. Thanks for sharing it. David.
