I Wish I Could Run Away - Poem by chloe poppins

I wish I could run away
To the world where no lives except me
It wouldn’t matter if I wanted to talk
Or to take a vow of silence

If I wanted to sing
Who would be there to hear me
To care how badly I sung
And there’d be no one there to say otherwise

It wouldn’t matter if I wanted to cry
Because the only creatures there to mourn
Would be the lonely birds
To shed their tears with me

It would matter if I wanted to dance
The stupidest dance you’ve seen
As only the tree’s in the wind
Would dance along with me

It wouldn’t matter if all I wanted to do
Was to lie down and sleep away the day, the month, the year
Because the only thing that would wake me
Was the warmth of the shining sun

It wouldn’t matter if I felt alone
If I felt that no one cared
Because who would be there to worry
To say that it’s all I’m worth?

It wouldn’t matter if I wanted to dress up like a fairy
A pirate, a doctor, a fireman, or a dinosaur
For only the curious rabbits would come out of their holes
And laugh at my joy

It wouldn’t matter if I wanted to die
For at least I’d die in peace
With butterflies to cry
And panda’s to mourn

It wouldn’t matter if I wanted to be with someone
As there would be no one to be with
So I’d sit alone
And stare at the stars silently

It wouldn’t matter if I felt worthless
Because I’d never be rejected
I’d never be disappointed
Let down wouldn’t be a word

It wouldn’t matter if I didn’t want to carry on
For no one would be there whispering
Poison in my ears
Your ugly, wrong and a freak

It wouldn’t matter to be alone
For the world would forget
That I ever exsisted
To them I’d be a blank

They could forget that I have feelings
That I’ve loved until it hurt
That I hate the words they say
That I hate the face that I carry

I wish I could run away
To the world where no lives except me
It wouldn’t matter if I wanted to talk
Or to take a vow of silence
