Fellow Poets often tell me,
They tell me, day by day,
Of the problems writing Rhymes and Scans,
To make their poems go their way.
They do not understand
Why I offer my Helping Hand,
And why I often to them say,
“Read them aloud as you write today.”
For if you listen to the words you write,
You’ll hear the Rhymes and Scans,
And you can then amend the words,
So the meaning will not become absurd.
Fellow Poets keep on telling me,
The problems that you find,
And I will try to help,
Without seeming to be unkind.
I am not being Big-headed,
I may not know more than you,
But I find this Style easy,
And wish always to help you.

Great advice Jonathan! I always read my poems out loud before I post them......I figure if I am stumbling over the words, it surely won't be easy for others to enjoy it. sincerely, Mary
