I Wonder? Poem by Randy McClave

I Wonder?

I wonder if Jesus was here and evangelizing now
I wonder what he would accept and would allow,
Whenever he looked at the world as it is today
I wonder what the Lord Jesus would do or say.
I wonder where he would go and walk
And I wander with whom he would listen to and talk,
I wander if this time he'd be born wealthy
And only be there for the healthy.

I wonder what Jesus would had done
If he saw his followers and disciples carrying a gun,
Knowing that it's used to take a life
Which always causes pain and sorrow and strife.
I wonder if Jesus would had instead carried a rifle
Instead of carrying the Holy Bible,
Then putting his faith in such an evil weapon
And not in God, his father in heaven.

I wonder Jesus thoughts about a homeless person
Would them he be hating and judging and cursin',
Would he blame them and tell them to get off the street
Is that how a homeless person he would greet.
I wonder if Jesus would had told his disciples to stay away from them
And to ignore their praises and their every hymn,
I wonder if he wouldn't care that they had no home
And all life for them was lectures, ridicule and to roam.

I wonder how Jesus would feel towards the hungry and the poor
Would he had told them to stay away from his door,
Would he had also told them to go and starve to death
And not feel any pain or sorrow or regret.
I wonder when Jesus preached to the multitude
And fed them all their food,
I wonder if any of them he refuse to feed
Because, of hate or of greed.

I wonder how Jesus would had thought about immigrants
And I wonder if towards them he would had felt a vileness,
I wonder if he'd tell his disciples to ignore those from different lands
Especially if they had different colored hands.
I wonder if he'd tell his disciples not to preach to the gentiles
And not to travel over those borders and those many miles,
I wonder if Jesus had lied
And just for certain people he loved and was crucified.
