I wonder, if God ever thinks of me—as I do.
Does He smile, when He recalls—sending me down—
expelled from paradise,
from unveiled presence—
for drawing near the forbidden tree?
Or does sorrow linger
for the weight of His decree?
I wonder, what might have been—
if He had not placed a veil around—
that mysterious tree,
if He had not opened the gate
to wilderness.
If I had only whispered, I need You,
would grace have softened judgment?
Would the way home have been shorter?
But what of it now?
The space between us feels empty,
yet I know, in truth,
emptiness never exists.
Nothingness is a veil—
for all that is,
blooms as the Real's expression.
Now I see—
I have never left.
I am always present with Him.
