I Would Live My Whole Life Poem by Mohammad Younus

I Would Live My Whole Life

I would live my whole life
just loving the light and sound—
Divine, who created me
to see His light, to hear His music.

And once having died,
I will live again
in His light and sound eternal.

The blue sky—my canopy above—
belongs to me alone.
The sun, which brightens my soul,
I shall never relinquish to anyone.

In the village where I now dwell,
beyond the world's clamor,
I shall remain forever
bathed in divine light and sound,
surrounded by peace,
wrapped in the presence of the One.

Separation is but an illusion,
a transient shadow—
like a fossil, forever buried.

Even now, I behold His serene light,
hear His eternal sound,
and see my covenant of Alast fulfilled.
