Ice Blue Sunrise Poem by Selene White

Ice Blue Sunrise

Frost on the window painting the room as the sunlight shines through
Shivering from the cold, wrapped in warmth
It's an early Sunday morning
Painting my white silk sheets in a cruel ice blue

Fingertips reaching out to touch the light
Watching it weave in between my fingers
Letting out a sorrowful sigh,
Oh, how could I lay here forever

I watch in silence as this ice blue sunrise fills the room
Almost as if the ice from the outside was slowly making its way inside
Inside of the room and inside of my heart

Sweet lovely cruel winter,
You are beautifully cruel in the way you freeze the Earth
And freeze my heart all the same
