Rough cotton sheets
Cold winter nights
Slowly feeling warmer
Blankets tossed somewhere to the side
I want to say
Simply how much I love you
How much I can see within your eyes that deep sadness
And I wonder, "What if? "
I kissed you
Your rougher lips against mine
Didn't feel that wrong
Tan skin gliding over paler skin
As I finally tell you
