Selene White Poems

I've got more to prove than most
Opening old wounds on the heart
Just to prove a point
...

Where do I go from here?
Lost in the confusion of words left unsaid
Drowning in words so sweet
Cold as winter ice
...

Why are you ever so calming?
Reminding me of a distant song
From so long ago that I can barely recall
...

Attempt one was when I was far too young
To understand the loneliness,
The pain in my heart
...

Frost on the window painting the room as the sunlight shines through
Shivering from the cold, wrapped in warmth
It's an early Sunday morning
Painting my white silk sheets in a cruel ice blue
...

Lay my head to rest upon the snow
Breaking the silence with my breath that leaves my lungs
Leave me here
Let the winter frost cover me in its cold cruelty
...

There are twenty-four hours in a day
During this time of the year, it seems as though the sun's warmth is no more
Is this because my heart has become as cold as the Earth below me?
Is this because my heart has become as numb as my fingertips have from the cold?
...

You, my dear, who murders me in hotel bed sheets
Tangled in them so that I can no longer breathe
As my heart flutters with love
...

A woman like you

Has no right to cast such a powerful spell
...

My bruised knuckles brushed against your soft ones
The winter wind blowing harshly on my face
Blowing your blonde locks behind you
As you laugh softly at my reddened face
...

12.

Humming a soft tune
I sigh as my fingers brush
Your tan collarbones
You slyly smile
...

Rough cotton sheets
Cold winter nights
Slowly feeling warmer
Blankets tossed somewhere to the side
...

Waking up to a pink lemonade sunrise
Shining into my mocha eyes
Dreams replaying in my head
...

We are one out of seven billion
On a rock, drifting through space
That goes beyond infinite, endless
...

I stir in silence
Watching the world go on
You by my side
I know now
...

Breath caught in my throat
As fear grips me like a vice
Are you the One?
Or will I end up alone again?
...

18.

Empty words and promises
Drip off your tongue like poison
We both know you don't mean a word you say
...

Selene White Biography

I grew up, reading books in the corners of dusty libraries. Writing poetry to ease the sorrows inside of my chest. It seemed so natural to me, coming to me like breathing. I grew to love writing poetry, I grew to love writing my own works. My own stories and own universes with a pen and paper. Reading was always my joy, and now, I wish to bring that joy to someone else.)

If You Let Me Love You

I've got more to prove than most
Opening old wounds on the heart
Just to prove a point

I'm harsh edges with soft curves
You're soft edges with fine edges
That hurt me so deeply

Oh I think I could love you anyway
Think I might be the best for you
Just let me know

If you let me love you
I would make you breakfast in bed
Kiss you for no reason senselessly

No matter, I am nothing to you

Selene White Quotes

There are two types of people, ones that can create whole universes inside of their minds, having a dimming world view. An escape from reality. The other is gullible, thinking this world is perfect as it is.

The Sun is the one who sings you a song in the mornings; a wake-up call. The Moon is the one who whispers tales long forgotten into your dreams.

Once you stop searching for love, that is the exact moment you'll find it. It's best to remember that.
