Winter Blues Poem by Selene White

Winter Blues

Lay my head to rest upon the snow
Breaking the silence with my breath that leaves my lungs
Leave me here
Let the winter frost cover me in its cold cruelty

Dye my soul in winter blues, letting the soft sighs be the only warmth
The world around me had its color drained into a monochrome
Leaving blue the only color left inside the cold

I reach my hand into the sun
Yellow color now a harsh blue flame and lost its warmth
I'll let this winter ice cover me inside and out
Allowing it to do so with a smile gracing my face

As small tears that I have had bottled up for so long slip down my face
