Ich Hatte Einst Poem by Heinrich Heine

Ich Hatte Einst

Rating: 2.1

I had a lovely homeland long ago.
The oak trees seemed
So tall there, and the violets blew so sweet.
It was a dream.
It kissed me in German, spoke in German
(You’d scarce believe
How good it sounds) the words: I love you true!’
It was a dream.

A Beautiful Dream Whispers Love a mother tongue may sound sweet but when the beloved says those heart warming words those soul stirring words 'I love you true' in any language it is a beautiful dream it is a dream not to wake from unless awaking into a fresh new world where happy smiling lovers walk into joy eternal hand held Inspired by the poem 'Ich Hatte Einst' by the poet Heinrich Heine.
