'If' Poem by Kevin Wang

'If'

If you are not the one
why does my chest hurt so much
if you are not there
why would my heart slowly die out
if you never met me
would you still smile so great like when I see you

so heartwarming like next to a crackling fire
bestowed love as I unfurl my river to you
heart to a wound
a stake at mercy
the only who'd hurt me
but is still beloved

if you were never there
i do not even want to imagine
if you never brushed me
i'd never had that feeling of goosebumps up my skin
feeling the breeze of warm air from you

you are truly too great
just got to imagine your smile once again
and heave through chest pains
to bring myself upright
and love you like so

don't worry much
if so
'cause promise are to be kept
like the sun swallowed by the sea
and the sea partnered with the sky
as wished to fight to the last
brag as much yet too much
just up to rim just for you
if so
just if...
