If Beauty Is A Substance Poem by james watkin

If Beauty Is A Substance

If beauty is a substance
Composed of it are flowers.
Winds cite its brittle nature.
Eyes in them dazzling powers.

True gold is not elicited
True gold is it evoked!
To Spring belongs the licence.
But to us, the vase choked.
