If Everyone Were Winners Poem by Francis Duggan

If Everyone Were Winners

Suppose humanity is designed in this way
There are winners and losers in the Human World every day
And though losing is a thing anyone does not choose
For one to win big many do have do have to lose
To the winner the most of the admiration and the one most people come to know by name
In losing for anyone not any fame
The football fans celebrating their club's victory
On the faces of the losing fans disappointment and misery
If everyone were winners how great this would be
But this is not possible as all would agree
If there never were losers then this would be great
But it is only the winners who does celebrate
For one to win big many do have to lose
Though losing is a thing anyone does not choose.
