If the infinite, vast and immeasurable
bore the weight of sinew and skin,
its boundless expanse confined
in the brittle vessel of a heartbeat.
The unfathomable essence, distilled,
to inhabit pulse and breath,
would fold within itself the entirety
of the universe's endless yearning,
compressed to the grasp of a single hand.
Omniscience, dulled to the opaque haze of thought,
would stumble over questions like stones in darkness,
while omnipotence, stripped to fragility,
would falter at the threshold of grief,
no longer the architect but now the clay,
shaped by winds beyond its command.
An omnipresent being, bound by flesh,
would wander, bewildered by boundaries,
and tremble, perhaps, at the ache of hunger,
the throb of loss,
as the divine fractures into a thousand shards,
each moment an eternity slipping through fingers
unable to close fast enough.
And the weight of knowing-
to see the world's wounds
yet bleed as one of many,
no balm but the humbling quiet of empathy,
the patience of becoming
small enough to suffer
as a universe might suffer its own creation.
