If God were in human form,
I would shake hands with him,
And hold him tight to my chest;
I'd bid Him,
Assalamualeykum, set my life right;
But He'd slap my crown hard and say:
I haven't made your life hard;
And I'd turn to Him and ask:
Then, who has written my taqdeer,
In pre-eternity?
He would tell me like a teacher:
'I only gave you a pen,
You are yourself writing with your hands,
Your taqdeer with this pen;
I'd tell him you have put the Satan,
After me to pick up quarrels with me;
And He would tell me:
'You're yourself the Satan;
So take my command,
And submit wholeheartedly to me, '
I'd laugh and take a sip,
From the cup of my tea;
And He'd say jokingly to me:
'I'm not the one who made,
The cup of tea for you';
And I'd say:
'Well, sure you are,
I'm myself responsible,
For all the ills I have;
I'd then turn to leave,
But he'd stop me again and say:
'Your heart's got a black dot on it, '
And I'd reply imploringly:
'So you erase this black dot...
from my heart, '
He'd laugh again giggingly,
And knock me down and say:
'I won't do it for you;
I'm not the one who put this black dot,
On your heart; '
And I would humbly tell him:
'Look, I've got to go, '
He would willy nilly allow me go;
And as I'd be walking out the door,
He would call me from my behind:
'Are you here alone?
Am I not with you? '
And I would joyously say:
'Ever sir, wherever I am,
You are with me'
I'd bid him adieu,
And finally ask him:
What is your name?
I am sure, he would tell me:
' My name is I Am! ' '
God has never come in human form,
To shake his hands with me;
As he has no corporeal form,
So I can't touch him at all;
So let me forget about visioning,
Him in human form;
My cup of tea is getting cold.
