If God Wood Poem by Deci Hernandez

If God Wood

Oh if we had a god
That would
Hearken unto our words

That if we could but speak peace
And behold peace

That if we could drive out enemies
With but the first spark of anger

Even as the fist flame is a sign
That all we intend to burn
Shall surely burn

Oh if our god would hearken unto
Our word

i would know truly that
god was made by the
Hands of man

God is. His statutes are forever
And forever Amen.

What rightousness and guarantee
God is not deaf dumb or blind

God is not an image
According to what a man
Can imagine

What is a darling,
The daughter to her father?
How much more
Are daugters and sons to God?
Is there correction?
Only first because there is love

Is there contention?
Only first because there is sin

Oh if i would
To God's word hearken

i would truly know
His son is my friend

Truly
When i erred
He thought it good to love me
And teach me again
