If I Could Poem by Jeremy Willson

If I Could

If I could be there with you I would
Past every struggle and battle
I'd claw, hack, and drag myself through Hell
Plummeting into the blackest of days
Where it seems so fuzzy, so confusing
And if I could I'd be that light to shine upon your feet
Leading you out of the emptiness that is the dark
If I could be there when you wake
To be your beautiful sunday morning smile
Helping, challenging, and comforting you
When you need it the most
If I could, I would be there because of you
I should be there for you… if only I could.
