If I Had Known Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

If I Had Known

If I had known how great the pain
Of loosing you would be,
This heart of mine would have been chained
Blindfolded, locked, and not be free.

If I had known this constant dying
Vain endless thoughts of you that plague,
With eyes that never cease from crying
Boundless questions that are vague.

Why did you give me love then leave?
I would have ran away from this-
What fault of mine now lets me grieve
The loss of you, I love and miss?

If I had known the final end
Of what our love would lastly meet,
To you this heart would have been sent
And where you go, you will take it.
