If It Wasn't For Us Poem by Randy McClave

If It Wasn't For Us

If it wasn't for the poor
Who else could the rich blame,
Who else could replace them in a war
And who else would they put to shame.
If the poor did not provide the food
The rich would then end up eating their riches,
Never would they make it to manhood
Never could they labor or dig ditches.

If it wasn't for the working class
Then the rich could not ever survive,
They couldn't get off their fat ass
Because, of the working class they stay alive.
If it wasn't for the working class hard workers
The rich wouldn't have nothing at all,
The working class are not the shirkers
Without the working class our economy would indeed fall.

If it wasn't for the middle class, like me
The rich would be constantly stuck in the mud,
They wouldn't know how to be free
Without the middle class's muscle and bone and blood.
We are the once's who fights the wars and pay the taxes
We are the ones who sew and mend every stitch,
And we are the ones that wears uniforms and grind the axes
We are the ones who made the wealthy rich.
