If Most Of Those Poem by Francis Duggan

If Most Of Those

If most of those who know me see me as unsuccessful well that does suit me fine
For how they feel about me is their business not mine
No I won't be losing any sleep to how they feel about me
I'll just live on 'til the day I die whenever that will be
I would like to live for a century and die as an old man
Without ever harming anyone in my lengthy life span
If most judge success in financial gain to me that seems okay
Since everyone does look at life in quite a different way
We all have different goals in life that we wish to pursue
And that we look at life quite differently so happens to be true
The greats of human history we well may celebrate
But on each and everyone of us there is a use by date
And of how others feel about me why should I even care
Since of my own shortcomings I am all too aware.
