If None Ever Bother Poem by Francis Duggan

If None Ever Bother

Rating: 5.0

If none ever bother to read or recite
Any of the thousands of verses I've happened to write
Then that will not bother me one bit at all
Since my expectations from life have always been small.

I've loved reading poetry since I was a boy
And penning to paper my own thoughts a thing I enjoy
And I will say here again what I have often said before
I write for enjoyment that and nothing more.

The years have left me looking weary and gray
But I never stop writing I write every day
My best days of life in decades long gone
But I don't stop writing I keep penning on.

I hope to keep penning till the day that I die
For if I told you otherwise that would be a lie
If I did not enjoy it I'd give writing away
So I keep on penning more stuff every day.
