If Then Poem by Julius Lenaiyarra

If Then

If then you should know
Perhaps, you may have to
Then think of it
Then in a manner...like...
Too much composed
Hidden behind a blank face
Script three lines, possibly four
Maybe a haiku, could be something else
Connecting a forgotten past
At a moment, just present
And lighting up a future
Which could have remained bleak
Evoking a mixture of feelings
In a manner, symbolic of the phases
Some wholeness of it, you may imagine
With so much simplicity
Linking to unknown complexity
And the feelings are evoked again
But if then, everything happens
Hidden behind a blank face...
