If You Are Still Poem by Holly Jamestone

If You Are Still

If you are still just for a moment
You may hear the clouds whispering before a storm
Until gray clouds begin grumbling loud enough
That white clouds jump ship, evaporating into the horizon

If you are still just for a moment
You may see the flowers blooming joyously
With the bees invited to their coming-out party
Spreading the news to all the fragrant neighbors

If you are still just for a moment
You may hear the serenade of the cool river
Embracing and bathing sun-splashed rocks
To a backdrop of rainbowed fish acrobatics

If you are still just for a moment
You may hear the longing of loving hearts
The breath of your soulmate becoming familiar
And their voice becoming one with yours
