Just when you think
you know me
I change.
Unrecognizable.
Untouchable.
Bold in my rejection.
I turn on myself.
Lashing out to the mirror
and those on the other side.
Weakness is for attacking
and love isn’t forever.
Laughter is medicine
To heal their conscience.
Goodbye is just another word
for death.
Buried behind my tongue
are all the words
I wish I’d said.
I welcome distractions
They allow me to breathe.
It’s barely worth
waking up.
I focus on the surface,
but the lie is
Circling,
waiting,
watching
and there.
Running from thoughts
Allows me to never
Absorb the truth.
Why am I so hard on myself
you ask?
Because
if you aren’t perfect
People wont love you.
